SE OFRECE:
- Programa formativo: The trainee will be undertaking work for two projects: the nature of resistance to Neonectria ditissima in apple species and an apple breeding programme.
The trainee will participate in all aspects of an apple breeding programme including planting, plant labelling, pollination and data collection.
The trainee will also assist in setting up and carrying out a pathogenicity test with a fungal pathogen (Neonectria ditissima) of apple . The work will consist of inoculating potted seedlings with spore suspensions, assessing symptom development, data input and quality assurance
Additionally, the student will assist with molecular laboratory work. This includes leaf-sample collection, DNA-extractions and screening apple genotypes with SSR-markers.
